OUR MISSION TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD

As a congregation dedicated to the teachings of Jesus Christ, we seek to foster a sense of faith, caring and hope among all God’s people.  We will create opportunities to become a community of joyful givers by offering our God given talents, resources and time to enrich the lives of those in need.  Through our interaction and outreach we seek to follow God’s plan.

When church members face difficult times, the Neighbors In Deed jump into action.

Team Bread: prepares meals for people in transition, recovering from a hospital stay and families with new members.

Team Outdoors: helps rake leaves, mow lawns, shovel snow.

Team Drive: provides transportation to and from Doctor’s appointments, hospital appointments and as needed.

Team Fixit: offers assistance with minor indoor and outdoor repairs

Team Spirit: Its focus is on prayer and spiritual support

Emmaus House and Mitch’s Place are homeless shelters located in Haverhill.  Our church has a long-standing commitment to provide dinner once each month to each location.

In coordination with the Department of Social Services, the Missions Committee obtains a list of families in need and their Christmas wish lists.  Individuals in the church pick names from the Advent Giving Wreath in Fellowship hall and buy the gifts.  Missions then hosts a wrapping party to wrap and tag the gifts for distribution.

Our Thrift Shop offers affordable used clothing and other items donated by the community, for sale to the public Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. til noon.  Money raised by the Thrift Shop is used to support mission and outreach projects locally, nationally and globally.
