Groveland Congregational Church Calls Settled Pastor

At a special congregational meeting held Sunday, September 27, 2020, the Groveland Congregational Church, United Church of Christ voted to welcome Reverend Robin DeAngelis as its new settled pastor.  Reverend DeAngelis promptly accepted the invitation and was welcomed, via zoom, with a standing ovation from the congregation.

DeAngelis, originally from Ipswich, MA, is returning to the Cape Ann area after spending several years in Ohio and most recently Florida.  She earned her Master of Divinity at Eden Theological Seminary in Missouri and has worked extensively with the United Church of Christ in several roles.

Robert Lay, Search Team Chair and Church Moderator, “We started the search process several years ago and began actively searching in September of 2019. While the search process typically takes up to 12 months the pandemic posed a new set of obstacles relative to meeting and interviewing. Those obstacles aside, we discovered that the search space is very competitive and finding the appropriate match between Pastor and Church requires considerable discernment. We are excited to call Pastor Robin as our next settled Pastor”.

Reverend DeAngelis will start in Groveland preaching her first sermon as pastor on Sunday November 1st.   Services at Groveland Congregational Church are held on Sunday mornings at 10 am.  Due to COVID restrictions there is restricted sanctuary seating although there is overflow seating available in our Main Hall. The services are also livestreamed on the church’s facebook page.  For more information about please visit www.grovelanducc.org.
